Is short for Universal Digital Web Design.
Unix
A computer operating system (the basic software running on a
computer, underneath things like word processors and spreadsheets).
Unix is designed to be used by many people at the same time (it is
multi-user) and has TCP/IP built-in. It is the most common operating
system for servers on the Internet.
Apple computers’ Macintosh operating system, as of version 10 (“Mac OS X”), is based on Unix.
Upload
Transferring data (usually a file) from the computer you are using to another computer. The opposite of download
UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)
A system
which allows computers to keep running for a limited time during a
power failure. It gives you the chance to save data before your system
crashes.
URL (uniform resource locator)
URL is the
address of a file accessible on the Internet, such as a website
address. The unique identification of a web site or web resource, such
as http://www.webmotion.co.uk
